Oakridge Families, Thank you for your patience as we have navigated through this latest disaster in our state. It has been my hope that the smoke leading to the hazardous air quality would begin to improve. Guidance is now saying that may not happen until later in the week or next week. So given that, we are pivoting on our school plan to reopen. We need to get our kids started in the school year. Please take a deep breath and know it will all be ok. Things during these times are not elegant, they are messy. This will be messy for a few days as well, let’s all hold on and move forward together. Here is how we are going to do it. We are switching our plan to have K-3 students come in person on Wednesday. We are starting them online until the air clears up and we can safely get them from home to school and back again. Monday afternoon and Tuesday, staff will rework schedules for meeting with students and parents to discuss Acellus online curriculum and Google Meets. You will also be contacted about picking up chromebooks if needed. School for grades 4-12 will be in the online model that we have been preparing for, CDL or Comprehensive Distance Learning. Things have been put in place for grades 4-12 to begin in CDL (online). We will begin with 4-12 on Tuesday. Principals Chapman and Iten will put out information that includes updates, changes, and reminders concerning the opening this week. Tuesday chromebooks will be issued to all K-3 graders who have not yet requested them and will now need them for CDL (online school). Please watch our website; NEWS and LIVE FEED, facebook, and our app for further information coming from the schools.
