As I’m sure you have already seen, the newest COVID19 data show the case rate in Lane County rose to 30.61 per 100,000 people and the test positivity rate is 5.2%. In order for K-3 students to attend in person as an exception under Comprehensive Distance Learning, Lane County rates must be under 30 cases per 100,000 people and the test positivity rate must be under 5%.
Please keep in mind the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Health Authority metrics guide whether we re-open in person or not. These are conditions that must be met in order to begin K-3 in person or limited in person instruction.
In order to qualify again for K-3 to begin in person instruction, the case rate must be under 30/100,000 and the test positivity rate must be under 5% for 3 weeks in a row. September 28 is the initial restart data (week 1). K-3 in person is also contingent upon our school having zero student or staff cases of COVID in the past 14 days prior to opening. We have had zero cases in our District at this time.
We will be monitoring the numbers and will be prepared to begin on an A/B schedule with K-3 in person when it is safe and allowable to do so.
