Oakridge Families,
Thank you for your patience as we have navigated through this latest disaster in our state. It has been my hope that the smoke leading to the hazardous air quality would begin to improve. Guidance is now saying that may not happen until later in the week or next week. So given that, we are pivoting on our school plan to reopen. We need to get our kids started in the school year.
Please take a deep breath and know it will all be ok. Things during these times are not elegant, they are messy. This will be messy for a few days as well, let’s all hold on and move forward together. Here is how we are going to do it.
We are switching our plan to have K-3 students come in person on Wednesday. We are starting them online until the air clears up and we can safely get them from home to school and back again.
Monday afternoon and Tuesday, staff will rework schedules for meeting with students and parents to discuss Acellus online curriculum and Google Meets. You will also be contacted about picking up chromebooks if needed.
School for grades 4-12 will be in the online model that we have been preparing for, CDL or Comprehensive Distance Learning. Things have been put in place for grades 4-12 to begin in CDL (online). We will begin with 4-12 on Tuesday.
Principals Chapman and Iten will put out information that includes updates, changes, and reminders concerning the opening this week.
Tuesday chromebooks will be issued to all K-3 graders who have not yet requested them and will now need them for CDL (online school).
Please watch our website; NEWS and LIVE FEED, facebook, and our app for further information coming from the schools.
Due to unhealthy air quality and low visibility for travel we will not hold school or deliver meals today. Forecasts for air quality and smoke show conditions improving this afternoon and continued improvement through the week. Be safe.
Good Morning this is a message from the Oakridge School District. At this time we plan to begin our school year on Monday, September 14. This will be on the staggered start schedule that was planned last week. We will provide meal service beginning on Monday, September 14. We look forward to getting this school year started!
Today we are giving out Snack Packs in the front of the High School, from 11 am to 1 pm. First come first served, 1 per child. You may drive through or walk up to receive your snack pack. Please wear a mask and practice 6 ft social distancing. Come on down, we are here until 1 pm!

Good Morning this is a message from the Oakridge School District. Due to continued power outages in parts of our community, internet service outages and staff who live in outlying areas under evacuation orders, we will begin our school year on Monday, September 14. This will give time for fire effects to settle down and allow us to restock spoiled food for our lunch program. We will not provide meal service until September 16.

Good Afternoon Google Superstar Teachers! Due to different factors affecting your area and the state of Oregon, we have been asked to delay the start of your Google Classroom Superstar 6-Week course. We will reschedule the September 9 date and will let you know when soon. Please plan to meet for session 1 on September 16 at 3:30-5:00pm.
It is with disappointment that I announce that without power we will not be able to hold school or provide meal service today. Hoping the power comes on today so we are able to reset things and be up and running on Thursday and Friday.
The phones for all Oakridge Schools and District Office are not working due to the power outage. We will keep you updated via our facebook page, website, our app, and robo calls as needed.
For now, we are closed, meals will not be delivered today, sorry.
We will not be serving meals today. Sorry. Stay safe all.
Due to the power shutdown and possible high wind/fire danger the Oakridge School District will delay the start of school until September 9. We will evaluate the situation and determine if we are able to prepare and deliver meals today. An update will follow to let you know. We are sad we won't see our students today and look forward to our first day tomorrow!
