National School Lunch Week
In our efforts to keep as much smoke out of our buildings as possible, the Elementary school will be changing how morning drop off will take place.
Parents, starting Monday, October 10th , you may drop off your students at the front doors between 7:30 and 7:45 and students may come into the building.
At 7:45, buses will begin to drop off.
Please do not park in the blocked off areas for the buses.
After school pick up will not be changed.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Due to the air quality, the High School Football game has been moved to Springfield High School tomorrow the 8th at 3:00pm.
With the lingering smoke issues in our communities, we are working to keep the air in our buildings as clean as possible in order to continue to have our students in school. Currently we have about 15 large air scrubbers and about 135+ air purifiers in our school buildings. Air monitors are installed inside our schools as well. In addition to these measures, we are working to obtain another 10-15 large air scrubbers in addition to the 10 we expect to be delivered soon.
In spite of our best efforts, the air quality in our schools may not be as good as we would like. Please know that we are consulting with LRAPA and Lane County Public Health to determine if we need to take any action to further mitigate the effects of the smoke in our schools and will take those steps as advised.
We understand that each child and family has differing needs during this smoke event. We are here to work with you to support your child's needs as we move forward and continue to educate them. Please reach out to your school if we can help support your children and keep their education moving forward.
Reminder, school is in session tomorrow, Friday the 7th.
